"The history of the company begins in 1919 when Telesforo Boschis moves from the Barolo vineyards to the Pianezzo hill, in Dogliani. After a few days his son Francesco is born. Here Telesforo continues his work by planting new vineyards. It was in 1968 that Francesco and his son Mario began to vinify a part of the grapes, producing a few hundred bottles of what we now know as “Dogliani Pianezzo". The experience gained allows us to make the most of the natural characteristics of the different vines and soils, and their exposure to the sun. For this reason, they began to vinify the grapes of some vineyards separately, obtaining the “Vigna dei Prey” in 1983, the “Vigne Sorì San Martino” in 1986 and the “Vigna del Ciliegio” in 2001 aal with the Dogliani Superiore DOCG denomination. In 2018, the Additional Geographical Mentions, MGA, were introduced in our Denomination, and for this reason all our Dogliani and Dogliani Superiore wines have the wording "Pianezzo" on the label, which is our hill and where all our vineyards are located, which are planted in the most suitable areas of the company, but there are also hazelnut groves, fields and meadows. We produce different types of grapes: Dolcetto (70-75% of total production), our area has a perfect climate for this variety, Barbera (part in the municipality of Dogliani where the Langhe DOC Barbera is born and part less than 200 meters away, but already in the municipality of Roddino d'Alba where we produce the Barbera d'Alba Superiore Vigna le Masserie), Freisa (every year the Langhe Freisa "Bosco delle Cicale" and only in the earliest years some bottles of Langhe Freisa Nei Sorì produced in the part exposed to the South-East), Grignolino, Pinot Nero and Sauvignon Blanc. We believe in respecting nature, for this reason we are certified Piemonte the green Experience, which certifies our commitment to sustainable agriculture for the protection of the environment and health, to promote biodiversity and for the beauty of the landscape. The wines are not filtered and the type of vinification can result in a perfectly natural presence of sediment in the bottle. Mario and Simona manage the company with their sons Paolo and Marco. Our labels are all designed by Teresita Terreno except the one for “Vigna del Ciliegio” which is the work of Mali (Marianne)."
