Graham's Organics

The Graham family has been farming in the Rosebush, Michigan area for over 100 years. The Farm owners Jim and Pat made the leap to organic farming, and decided to invest in a cultivator rather than chemicals. They chose to farm in a way that benefits their soil, their animals, and ultimately, the people who consume the meat they sell. It is their conviction that it is simply “the right thing to do” – for their animals, for people, and for the earth. 

By 1995, the Grahams had their first certified organic field, through OCIA (Organic Crop Improvement Association, Inc.) The next year, they had 250 certified acres, and then took steps to become a fully organic farm. In 1999, they started purchasing cattle from Ohlde Cattle Company in Kansas, a breeder known for amazing Black Angus cattle. After producing feed for only their own livestock for years, in 2008, they responded to market demand by creating their own feed mill. Currently, the Grahams, now in partnership with son Matt, farm over 1400 acres of corn, soybeans, oats, alfalfa, and spelt— all organically. There are also acres of clover and grasses for rotational grazing. All this acreage is currently certified through OEFFA (Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association.)  These crops feed their cattle and create organic feed for many other animals.
